Choosing a Title & Book Sharing

Today, we are starting with a brand new topic – colours. We needed to give a name to our theme. Therefore, I guided the children to think of a name for their theme.

These were the themes suggested:

-          Happy colours

-          Wonderful colours

-          Beautiful Colours

-          Rainbow colours

Each of them only has 2 votes. At last, 2 topics were chosen – Beautiful colours & rainbow colours. So I asked if we could combine these two topics and make into one. The children agreed. Therefore, our new topic called – Beautiful Rainbow Colours.

Book Sharing – A Color of His Own by Leo Lionni

This is a book about a chameleon who wishes to have a colour of his own. However, his wish was not granted. Yet, he found another chameleon which is willing to go along with him. Therefore, whenever the two of them go, there will always be 2 chameleons with the same shades of colours. Chameleon is happy about it. 

As we still got a little time left, I draw the outline of the chameleon for the children to colour it with the colours that they preferred.
