Year End Performance Practise

This year coming year end in December will be the graduation ceremony for our 6 years old children. At the graduation ceremony, our English Thematic class will have to perform a show or programme. As a result, I decided to get the children to sing and dance. I had chosen the song "Rainbow Song" for the children to perform. 

Dear parents could actually refer to my previous blog to have a check out the lyrics and practice it with your child. 

From November till December, we will be focusing on  practicing for the performance. Therefore, there shall be no daily blog update. 

Thank you for your support this year. Hopefully we shall meet again in year 2014.

Art Work - Starry, Starry Night (part II)

Art Work - Starry, Starry Night (Part II)

We continued a little further about the art work of that starry picture that the children did yesterday. It also reminded me of a nursery rhyme that the children could be quite familiar with – “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”.

Therefore, I asked the children to sing that song. However, some of the words were not clearly sing. The children laughed at the way they sing the song. As a result, I played the song for them and wrote out the lines on the board. This time round, they could actually catch the words better.

I printed this song on a piece of small paper. I gave each child a colour paper, a small printed out song and the art work on the starry view that they did yesterday. They have to paste the starry view in the middle of the colour paper at any angle and the song at any corner of the paper on their preference. They could later decorate the side of the paper with any other drawings that they like.

Art Work - Starry, Starry Night

Art Work - Starry, Starry Night

As I stepped into the class today, Xin Yi immediately said that she looked out of the sky yesterday but couldn’t see any stars. I guess, the clouds must have blocked it as it often rained at night recently.

I told her that it’s fine. Then I showed the class the black rectangular shape paper that I had prepared for each of them and the silver glittering dust with some glue.


Each of the children will have to dip their finger’s tip into the glue and move around the black colour paper before sprinkling the glittering dust onto it. The children were amazed that it did look like the star view that they saw at night. The art work will be continued tomorrow.
