Book Sharing

As we only have about 2 more weeks before end of April, therefore, we quickly moved on to the next colour that the children had suggested earlier - white.

Teacher: Can you name me thing that is white in colour?
Yi Rou: rice, mee- hoon (a kind of noodle)
Gaby: paper
Shan Lin: snow, flour
Khai Hann: clour, milk
Max: duck, sugar, bread, lychee, tofu
Haowen: flower

Then, I asked the children to think of any activity that we could do with white, just like we did for pink colour. At first, the children kept giving me examples of things in white, however, after a few explanation and examples given, the children some how understand my questions and started to give all sorts activity related to white. Some said we could draw the clouds on a dark colour paper while some suggested to do something with milk. Suddenly, I thought of an activity that we could do with milk and yogurt. Therefore, I briefly explained the ingredients for this activity. However, the children needed to help to prepare some fruits that could go along with yogurt. The children suggested that the following fruits or food could go along with this activity:

apple, orange, strawberry, mango, banana, honey, grapes etc.

As the children needed some time for preparation, we shall carry out this activity on Friday. Hopefully that the children could remember to bring the fruits or food mentioned above on the following 2 days.

After this discussion session, I brought in a book to share with the children - Red Book by ABC Play School. This is a fun book with all sorts of way to create interest in children to look out for things in red and pink. The children had fun participating in some of the activity in this book.
