Green Art with fingers

Book Sharing – The Greedy Python by Richard Buckley & Eric Carle
This green python is very greedy. It would want to swallow anything that comes its way, no matter big or small. At last, it even swallowed up an elephant. All the animals were kicking badly in its stomach. Finally, the greedy python throw up all the animals out from its stomach.

When the greedy python got much better, it felt hungry again. Then it saw a green tail and thought it would be its meal. So it started to swallow it. That’s the end of the greedy python.

Art and craft- finger printing
After the story reading, I gave each of the children a piece of paper and some green water colour. The children needed to decide what picture to draw on the paper. Most of them chose to do a snake art after listening to the story of the greedy python. I reminded them that the snake has a head and tail.

Yet, most of the children somehow just randomly printed their finger with the green water colour and not sure if it would look like a snake. Only a few of them could actually plan their painting.

When the water colour was dried, the children added in the details to their picture.
