Art
and Craft: Shark (Part II)
Today, we continued
with the art of the shark. I prepared two circle round shape for each children
to cut as the eyes of the shark. Then the children have to colour the pupil for
the eye of the shark.
Once the children
had done this part, they pasted the eyes onto their shark. Then they started to
draw the sharks’ diet such as fish, octopus etc. The children drew their own and
colour it. After that they tried to cut it out and pasted it at the mouth of
their shark.
Edmund and Kai Heng needed
some extra time to complete their art work today.
Book
Sharing: Whale Gets Stuck by Charles Fuge
& Karen Hayles
It’s
midsummer in the Arctic where the sun shone
all day and night. The whale loves to swim in the open sea. It loves to leap
out of the water but unfortunately it landed on the ice floe and not back into
the water. All the animals such as walrus, dolphin, narwhal, polar bear also
came to help. However, none of their plans worked.
All
the animals got tired and resting on the ice. The whale was sobbing. No one
noticed that the ice floe was cracking. Then suddenly, all the animals fell
into the icy water when the ice floe finally gave way. The whale was free at
last.
