Group Work - Chinese Zodiac

In order to carry out word recognition, I prepared a manila card with some pictures and words of the 12 Chinese Zodiac.

As there were 16 of them in the class and I only have 12 pictures in hand. Therefore, there were 3 groups of 2 while others have to carry out the activity individually. Each of them hold a picture out of the 12 Chinese Zodiac. Then, on the manila card, I have drawn 12 small circles for the children to paste the pictures on it according to its sequence. Each of them will come out and tell the class of the animal that he/she or they were holding. Then, they will need to identify where to place that animal on the manila card.

After this activity, the children were given a piece of worksheet related to this Chinese Zodiac. There were only names written on the worksheet without any pictures.  The children were  given the 12 animals' pictures with names on it. Then, they needed to match the pictures with the written names given on the worksheet in order to paste the picture accordingly. Most of the children could complete the task without guidance.
